What's a small deer to do?

Rascaletta (the smallest deer in the middle) is standing over the food we had just placed on the ground for her. She was the only deer close by when we set down the meal, but all of a sudden, she was surrounded by seven or eight hungry does. What's a small deer to do in a situation like this? Maybe if she puts on her fiercest face and defensive stance, they won't mess with her or her food. It's worth a try. From the look on her face, she seems to be trying very hard.
