English Rural Church, Hampshire
This is St Barnabas in Faccombe. It's in the middle of nowhere, deep in rural Hampshire.
Built in 1866 and designed by G.B. Mussellwhite. It was a replacement for a Norman church of St Michael that had been demolished in the nearby medieval site at Netherton.
Faccombe is in the Domesday Book - William The Conqueror's 1086 survey of what he had won at the Battle of Hastings twenty years earlier.
It's also a few miles from Highclere Castle, the location for Downtown Abbey.
