Floating pebble

I thought that I would have a stroll along the shore path from Stromness toward Breckness, but the path was like a long, thin, bumpy ice rink. Not much fun. A few other people were on it...it was like a semaphorers convention there was so much arm-waving going on.

I was taking a photo of this pebble embedded in ice when, astonishingly, it broke free and started to float away. I got the shot before it disappeared off toward Hoy.
