Spiky
I had a decent day at work, punctuated by a meeting with some bods from a local bank to see what work opportunities there might be as between us. I have nearly got a deal over the line for a client (fingers crossed for tomorrow) and was rather pleased when I discovered that I knew more about a particular area of expertise than did my counterpart on the other side. Sometimes, I take it for granted that I am an expert in my field as, to me, I just do my job day in day out... it's gratifying to be reminded from time to time though.
After work, I did some shopping for the village Duck Race tea tent and for my weekend guests and bumped into an old lodger J in Tescos, I haven't seen him for about 3 years so it was great to see him. It turns out he now lives above a pub in the next village and I can't really compete with that! However, he has said he'll pop in to mine sometime for a drink, which will be nice.
I came back to make some tea but I've got a tummy ache so am going to skip tea and chill out with a Sopranos episode instead.
My blip is another low level light shot of one of the Acanthus flowers budding spikily. I like the architectural nature of these rather enormous beauties...
It's Friday tomorrow - yay!
