no longer lost at Heligan

After arriving late last night, Ross and I set off for a day at the Lost Gardens of Heligan. A very successful trip via an agricultural shop for sheepy things and our first real pub lunch in a while. Then we hit the gardens; we enjoyed a few lost bits, the old mill reserves and streams, some woodland talus, but it was really the Thoroughly Restored Gardens of Heligan. Gorgeous hand dug vegetable garden - admirable- and ancient variety apple arch, great pineapple pit and cold frames too. Lovely staff willing to chat and advise. And this beautiful bee wall.
The children went to the monkey sanctuary with Mum and Dad- great day apparently, a bit short on monkeys, though they didn't seem to notice.
