The Longest Day

The title today of course refers to the 1960s film of the same name which told the story of the D Day Landings in Normandy on 6 June 1944. Exactly 70 years ago today we remember all the men who gave their lives in order to bring WWII to its conclusion.

The field poppy which is pictured always flowers just about now & yesterday was still in bud.

Popped out for some shopping, then home for lunch & a snooze. Not doing too much today as we knackered ourselves out yesterday. R & N were very pleased with what we did & the carpets went down this am as planned.

We will call up to the house a little later and do a couple of tidying jobs & take the bed which is in our garage at the mo.
