Hurds Hill

Today J collected me and we drove across the Somerset Levels to Langport and Hurds Hill. We had been invited to a gathering by Marie Curie to hear various presentations by the people involved in fundraising, nursing and general running of the charity.

Hurds Hill until recently was a nursing home but now under new ownership it has become a venue for meetings and business conferences residential or otherwise. Originally the house was the home of Walter Bagehot (1826-1877), former editor of The Economist and author of many works including The English Constitution, Lombard Street and various articles about the American Civil War.
