Spirit

Today was the last spirit assembly of the year for my daughter's school. Each year they use this opportunity to celebrate and say farewell to the 8th graders moving on to high school. The 8th graders stand in the middle of the lawn, surrounded by the rest of the school from the preschool and up along with the teachers. A chance to be the center of the school and know they are loved and will be missed.
This year also sees the principal retiring and she became the center of the circle too. Then as the social and very generous lady she is, she worked her way around each layer of the circle hugging all the kids.
There were tears all round.
Hope everyone enjoyed their last days of school - we still have parties next week before we formally break up but summer is definitely here.
