Love of Land: ArtistAnnie

Blipfoto favorite ArtistAnnie was one of four local artists whose works were featured in Allied Arts 2014 Juried Artist Series at the June Artwalk in Bellingham tonight. The subject was Love of Land; Ann's works featured scenes from her travels in the southwest area of the United States, an area she knows well.

We arrived just as she was explaining her painting process to the folks gathered to see the exhibit, which included three other artists. Ann has wonderfully expressive hands, which made this one my favorite.

There were 30 downtown Bellingham locations featuring artists tonight, and on a balmy summer evening, it was a delight to wander from place to place, with a stop at the Temple Bar for a drink and their incredibly delicious hot stuffed dates with goat cheese, prosciutto, and balsamic reduction.

We had hoped to catch a glimpse of the annual Bellingham World Naked Bicycle Ride this evening, but apparently missed the riders. About 120 people participated in last year's ride.
