Lunch With a View

This photo was taken with three points of view in mind.
Peggy & I flew into Catalina Airport in the Sky today to meet our son Miah for lunch and a quick inland tour of some of the island that he lives in, works in and loves. The wheel-like object framing the photo is part of the massive grill the airport restaurant uses in the summer for their BBQ's that they have each month. We've been to several of these and they are great, complete with a live band and tri-tip lunch that can't be beat. Pilots and locals all gather for the fiest while enjoying the view from high on Catalina Island. Just past this foreground is the hummingbird dining on a succulent blossum. At one point there were 5 hummingbirds all humming around the large plant while we ate our buffalo burgers. The final view is one you have to imagine due to the haze of the day. It's the coast of Southern California from about 26 miles away. After lunch Miah drove us through some of the island inland for a truly great day. Visit their Blips for more photos of our time as I have yet to master Rosie's art of montages & collages.
