Meet the Morgans

An early start from Isaac today, it was before 6am when I checked the time. Amelie was still sleeping so I left her and took him downstairs. We played for a bit and I had a cup of tea. Amelie joined us at 6.30, still tired. She is just incapable of sleeping if anybody is up and about. They had breakfast and I read my book. When Chris got up we all had showers and ate eggs and soldiers. Boiled eggs are another one of Isaac's favourite foods, blueberries being the absolute favourite. He ate every last scrap of his egg then ran through to see if he could pinch some of ours. After brunch we drove to Ikea to get our garden furniture. My Mum and Dad had given me my birthday money early so we could get them and use them whilst the weather was nice. We got two wooden chairs and a little table and a little wooden picnic bench for A&I with money from their accounts (we pay in all the money they get and use it when needed). Somehow Amelie missed us picking up the bench and didn't realise until we got it home and Chris had built it! I also picked up a yellow lantern, yellow plant pot and a lavender plant. And I got some food goodies from the shop. We got lost on the way home somehow, and ended up in the centre of Milton Keynes then on completely the wrong road back. Eventually we got back on track and made it home. Despite leaving in the pouring rain, we came home to bright sunshine. We built the furniture and then I started to reorganise outside to fit everything in. There is a leaking overflow pipe in the back, the ground is soaking wet and its getting on my nerves. I phoned our agents to tell our landlord but I have a feeling it might actually be next doors. He never goes outside so I doubt he's going to be in a hurry to fix it... Anyway they all went inside to leave me to it, I moved some big plant pots and there was a load of mud underneath so I had to wash and sweep the ground.

We got a letter about Amelie starting school this morning! I hadn't expected it to arrive so soon. I've decided not to appeal the decision, maybe there was a reason my form didn't make it in time. I think my gut decision was the right one and I think its the right school for her. We are very lucky in that I think she will be in a reasonably small class but in a school that is quite big and has lots of resources. We have an information meeting in a couple of weeks then the following week Amelie will be able to spend a few hours there in the morning without us, which will be great. In the week before she starts back there will be a home visit from her teacher and then the next week she will do afternoons before starting fully the week after. Its all very exciting!
