Republic of Bute?

Waiting to cross from Bute back over to the mainland peninsula of Cowal - and a Border Force patrol vessel, the Vigilant, slowly cruised by the bows of the Loch Dunvegan. I assume that Bute has not prematurely declared independence in June, regardless of possible outcomes in September, so I guess that the visiting yachts in the Kyles of Bute were being given a gentle reminder that there are customs restrictions to coming ashore at any point in the UK. Or maybe Bute is just independent after all. Viva les Brandanes!!
