Let them have cake!

And so the Diamond Wedding celebrations have drawn to a close. Those who came to help eat the left overs have now gone home and we are left to reflect on a weekend which I hope has created memories that will linger for a time and not get lost in the mists of Mom's dementia. At least she has them now.

I love the facial expressions in this photo - Mom looking intently at the Vicar who is about to congratulate Mom and Dad on 60 years of marriage which started in this very church, and the youngsters looking on, waiting to tuck into the cake to help the celebrations along too. We had a Pentecost service about waiting, waiting for God who is waiting for us to be ready to do what he wants us to do. We had a bit of waiting for cake!

We've had a tiring but lovely weekend. Work tomorrow!
