Luang Prabang
Up at 5 this morning to see the monks collecting alms (sticky rice and sweets) we set ourselves on raffia mats and stools and dished out the rice as the monks trooped past. We were adjoined by 2 young entrepreneurs - girls probably no more than 7 or 8 who collected the unwanted sweets in buckets and then sold them back to the street sellers!
I liked this candid shot - clearly it was too early for the monks too ;0)
A few of us walked through the market to capture more shots including a poor squirrel for sale and a duck in a bag - gave a new meaning to oven ready..
Breakfast before a walking tour up Phou Sii Stupa - 328 steps to see the views, then national museum, and Xieng Thom temples before rejoingin the group at Joma cafe.
Did a cookery course this evening with Margaret where we chose a couple of dishes from those demonstrated to cook and then eat - was good fun and we got a recipe book included.. back to the hotel and crashed out after such a long day!
