new favourite things

I love birthdays despite the age thing obviously !
We tend not to have so many presents as we get older ,
and having been away on postings over the last few years I
have enjoyed the simple pleasure of receiving birthday
cards instead , but this year a bumper crop -
the card from my daughter in Australia was
naturally the favourite.
