Varenna

Lunch in Varenna today with the temperature a cosy 36 degrees. Strangely it did not slow us down too much today. On the lake with the boat in motion there was even a slight refreshing breeze.

The picture shows on of the streets in Varenna. The seating is kindly provided by the adjacent ice-cream shop. With the temperature as it is today the shade is about the only place it is possible to eat an ice-cream faster than it melts.

The streets in Varenna either go along the hill side or up and down rather steep inclines. Must be fun on the rare occasions it shows, though based on the postcards it makes a very picturesque scene.
