Mexican Aztec ruins - Chichen Itza

Travelled several hours on a nearly straight road across the coral based Yucatan Peninsular to these famous ruins. The land seems fairly unproductive and mostly scrub land. After exploring and coping with the local vendors making jaguar calls ( to sell the jaguar whistle) we then went to a beautiful canyote, or is a deep sink hole in the limestone. A few hundred steps were carved into the side so we could get to the water level, some open to the pool some in a tunnel. Had wonderful cooling swim amongst probably several hundred little black fish, then an excellent meal.
