Herb Bennet

Geum urbanum. Also known as Wood Avens. I missed the little yellow flower but the seed heads are striking!

Bennet means blessed - benedictus - and in folklore this plant has the power to drive away evil spirits. In medieval times a piece of the root was often worn as an amulet. Herb Bennet is still used by modern herbalists to treat a variety of conditions including colic.
