Luxembourg Day 5
Ceiling #5 (La cathédrale Saint-Etienne de Metz)
Day trip to Metz, small but beautiful. It was very hot and due to some train "miscalculations" on (essentially) my part, those of us (including me) who did not form part of the advance guard, were only able to spend 4 hours there.
Nonetheless, it was lovely. The cathedral blew me away - it's been a long time since I saw such a building. "Huge" isn't enough to describe it.
Went back to Luxembourg for the final evening of plays - the first was a visual feast, the second (by Woody Allen) had the best opening sequence ever - totally unexpected and the third was very good and consequently won the competition.
Our play won an acting nomination for Little K and best original script for G - so we didn't go away empty handed.
Joined the winners for some beer on the steps of the town hall(?) and much hilarity was had by all.
As you can probably imagine, I had several photos for today, including one which will rank amongst the best pictures I have ever taken, where I took a shot of the group outside Metz station and due to extreme sunshine and sunglasses, cut off 4.5 out of 6 heads. It's nice to see that my photography skills are improving.
I might print it out.....
