Things are looking up because it's a blue sky day

"Hey there, Mr Blue, we're so pleased to be with you ... " though there were a few very high clouds in the sky which I blipped on our woodland walk, looking up between the beech and oak trees.

According to the met office, these are: "Cirrocumulus. Height of base: 20,000 - 40,000 ft. (Latin: cirrus - lock or tuft of hair; cumulus - heap.) Cirrocumulus clouds are lots of small white clouds - called cloudlets - grouped together at high levels. Composed almost entirely from ice crystals, the little cloudlets are regularly spaced, often arranged as ripples in the sky. They are relatively rare, and unlike altocumulus clouds, never have any shading."

Enough of that ... they're simply very pleasing to behold! There was a buzzard circling around and around and I blipped him/her, too, but the background sky was not nearly so interesting! It could almost be ripples on the sea and, in my imagination, it momentarily felt as though I was looking down not up and made my world feel pleasantly topsy turvy. But then, I do have a fertile imagination!

Flash wasn't impressed. She wanted to spend time paddling in the river (one she hasn't explored before) but having just had kennel cough vaccine squirted up her nose twenty minute before in anticipation of Hamey's puppy's arrival on Monday, submersion didn't seem such a good idea to us human borings. Then, as we were about to turn around at the far end of the walk, we found the notice that said, all dogs must be kept on a lead at all times ... which was a spoiler for her!
