DDW Challenge; at the movies. Jaws

This film surely has one of the scariest openings. The violence, while not bloody, is terrifying as the girl is repeatedly tugged underwater. The memory of that scene came back when we stood on the beach at Perth last year and dipped no more than a toe in the water.

The Great White Shark is an Apex Predator, at the top of its food chain. At, or rather, near the bottom is this fellow. Not so much Jaws as Gums. He might just give you a nasty suck.

This is a member of the Herring family and as such would constitute an amuse-bouche for the Great White before it moved on to the main course of things just marginally smaller than itself.

While sharks in general and the Great White in particular, give me the willies, the herring is something I am extremely fond of, especially when kippered. This particular specimen is some 50M years old and so is well past its use by date. This little fishy will not be on my little dishy, regardless of whether the boat comes in or not.
