Culross Palace.

I have just returned from a week in Fife and we stopped off here on the way home. The palace dates from 1597 and shows the crow stepped gables and red pantiles on the roof, which you see in a number of the smaller towns and villages in the region. It has been painted this colour apparently because they have had film crews in the village and they have been using this in some way, but I think the building is meant to be white. I have a backlog of pictures to sort through and a pile of washing to deal with, but it was a really good week. Fife has some beautiful harbours which are quite different form the west of Scotland.
