El Michoacan

My sister and brother-in-law were here on Wednesday and we decided we had a hankering for Mexican food. The best place in Ramona for Mexican is El Michoacan, so we loaded up and headed in to town. When we got to the restaurant, it was closed. Closed on Wednesdays? Hmm. No hours posted on the door or on Yelp (I checked). Sadly, we wandered off and ended up at D'Carlos for dinner. Not a bad choice either, but not Mexican.

Today we had to go out because the tile was finally installed in the Kitchen -- which means we couldn't walk in our kitchen. I drove by El Michoacan on the way home, just to make sure it was open before picking up the wife and heading back to town. We got there, the doors were open, and the place was crowded, as usual. A good meal was had, and we asked our waitress what's up with Wednesdays? She said they were always closed on Wednesdays because they don't get any deliveries that day. I'm not sure why having no deliveries means you close shop, but whatever. She also told me they just replaced the doors and no one has gotten around to putting the hours back on the door.

So be forewarned. If you are in Ramona, and want Mexican food -- don't go to El Michoacan if it is Wednesday. Any other day, go for it.
