Ready for lift off
The afternoon was definitely the best part of the day and so we decided on a walk along the Cleveland Way starting at Sutton Bank. The path skirts the edge of the landing strip of the Yorkshire Gliding Club.
There was a group of gliders all waiting to be towed into the air by light aircraft to take advantage of the thermal air streams which rise up the bank.
I photographed one of the aircraft waiting for one of the gliders to be attached to its tow line. It was not until I uploaded it that I noticed Eggborough power station, many miles to the south near Pontefract, was visible below the wing.
Hope the good weather continues tomorrow.
