The first poppies

Like a demonstration of how it works these three poppies show the whole process of a a poppy opening up. The first is out, the second is ready to throw off its cap and open and the third is just starting to split the cap.
Summer is wonderful, when the sun shines.
I didn't leave the garden today, doing a lot of raking and grass cutting, with breaks taken sitting outside. Breakfast was also outside but it had cooled down by evening when it was time for dinner. Lunch? That got missed out, or perhaps the late breakfast was actually lunch!
