Sundew

We went off for another Sunday afternoon walk today. Just three miles out to the deserted village of Stiomrabhaigh and back, but it was harder than the six miles last week because it was so boggy underfoot and the path was... well, not a path at all in parts. I slipped and fell in boggy bits three times, but at least it's a relatively soft landing! There's not much left of the village, but it's a lovely, quiet spot. We stopped a while and explored. The wet ground did mean there were lots of these sundew around - it's a carnivorous plant that traps its prey (insects) with its sticky dew, rolls up around the insect and digests it.
