Hall Place

Lovely detail on this entrance to Hall Place in Leigh. The closest we could get to seeing Hall Place was this view through the trees.. It seems I will have to watch out for the gardens being open after reading the bit below on the internet. You learn so much from blipping---

The Garden is open in aid of the National Garden Scheme in the spring for the daffodils and camellias and early summer for the late rhododendrons and roses. Arthur Hellyer, writing in Country Life in 1989 ranked the garden among “The best 19th Century gardens in the country”.
