down to a trickle

There was only a trickle of water over the weir at Crowden this afternoon.

It felt warm enough to be summer and for a change the sky was full of House Martins and not Swallows. Many birds were busy feeding youngsters most notably Mistle Thrushes and Stonechats - one of our favourites that seems to have been hard to spot this year.

That's the Pennine Way long distance footpath that goes up to the horizon and on to the top of Black Hill
