at home with an Ivysaurus

Too hot to be awake anymore

It was a hot, long, hot, sticky, hot day today. Did I mention it was hot?

Ivy and I went on an epic adventure to Inverness together- not a light undertaking as the bus there takes 1hr 40minutes. I normally just carry ivy about in a baby carrier, and dont' use the pram but as we were getting a taxi at the other end I thought it would be better to take pram and car seat. Did make travelling ALOT harder though.

She did very well on the bus- altough she skipped a nap because the bus stopped and woke her up and then people getting on the bus wanted to chat to her and made her very very awake.

We were in Inverness because I had to do some child protection training for becoming a breastfeeding peer supporter. I've actually done this training before as part of teacher training and it's grim. Slide after slide detailing gruesome ways children have died of neglect. Ivy didn't quite understand the somber mood of the occasion and was zooming about, dancing, shouting and generally being a bit of a comedian.

Today was hot (did I say?) but it was cold and overcast when I left ullapool in teh morning- so Ivy had on wooly tights, a long sleeved vest and long sleeved top, a cardigan and her raincoat. My bag had spare jumper, tights, long sleeved vest and I even had a rain cover for the pram and a thick blanket. It was too hot for these things. The room we had trianing in was oppressivly hot- so Ivy was romping about her funky nappies.
