The big experiment

Yesterday's impressionist sunrise was taken with great care not to upset any of these buckets.

We don't know exactly what the research is but it measures water from the sprinkler in different conditions. That next sprinkler you buy for your paddock or garden could have been refined through this study.

Of course there are plenty of jokes about emptying buckets, squirting water bottles and adding colour. All in theory of course.

The great thing is a student can set his experiment up and leave it here for weeks on end. No one has interfered with or vandalised it. Admittedly it is on a stretch of grass removed from the main part of campus, but it's highly visible and anyone can wander on in, including the general public.

I think that is pretty neat.
