Kilmartin and Crinan Canal

And a visit to Kilmartin just a few miles away from last nights camp site. The museum (reasonably priced) is informative and easy to follow giving a comprehensive overview (not sure if that is possible) of local Scottish history. A definite must when visiting the area. The day started with a heavy sea mist which cleared by 9.00 and now it is looking like another hot sunny day.

At 15.45 and inadvertently we arrived at the Crinan Canal basin, (the mist has caught up with us) a surprising place. It's tiny and busy with boats, people, dogs and a good coffee from the local cafe. Also an opportunity to catch up on wifi. I have left the connector from camera to iPad in the van and nipped outside with the iPad to see a yacht coming through the canal lock.

This is a beautiful area of Scotland, it feels natural and generally unspoilt.
