Taormina

Our first day in Sicily - we're in Taormina on the East coast. The flight was quite exciting: we had to abort the landing first time around because a helicopter was in our way. A ripple of applause greeted our eventual safe touchdown.

In Taormina we had a long lunch and visited the Greek amphitheatre - which commands views of Mount Etna across the bay (we're hoping to go up tomorrow). Tonight P is planning everything around the World Cup... Sigh
