Local faces in local places - yet more
I'm feeling a lot better today which is good because there was a lot to do.
Started with an early visit to GP for annual check - only I arrived a week early. Ouch!
Then took Mum to optician in Corbridge and had enough time to buy a new loaf tin she wanted in the excellent cookshop there.
At lunchtime, we were at the Hexham cricket club function room for Paula's 70th birthday party. She is Greek and so we had a Greek meal. That was a good change from the norm.
When we came home I rushed off to catch the light for some more pictures of local faces in local places. This is Ian who is a passionate collector and restorer of old beds. He took over the old Methodist Chapel next door to us as his workroom. Here he is with one of two exciting recent finds. This bed is American and made for one very important person. The book shows the same bed but says it is English. Someone is coming from the USA next week to look at it and then it may be moved to a museum in the States.
The project is proving more interesting every day. I photographed Nancy and her neighbour on their garden bench today - and it nearly collapsed beneath them! Then two Mums, Louise and Liane were happy to be snapped as they enjoyed a cup of tea while their children played. Louise produced a photo taken when she was 14 and I photographed her holding the original. Lots of fun with the camera today.
