Visiting the World

Journey to Whistler

Time to hop on another Moose bus and head up to Whistler.
It's actually a really short journey, 2 hours or so. But our driver (Elana) was planning lots of stops along the way.

Our first stop of the day was to get a stunning view of Vancouver across Howe Sound. The day was already looking clear and beautiful.
Then we went to see Shannon Falls.
We did a little food shopping (Tim Horton's <3) in Squamish for lunch and then went to a small flight centre where some of the group took a short flight around the mountains.
Next we stopped at Alice Lake, which really was stunning and peaceful. I even got my bikini on and had a sunbathe on the jetty while some of the others went for a swim- we were also held hostage by some geese..!
A little further on there was a short walk to another waterfall, and some more amazing mountain views. We also got to see the Alpine Train.
Finally, we stopped for one of the Austrian guys in the group to do the Whistler Bungee. I still never will!

The hostel is really nice. It is the Athletes Village from the 2010 Winter Olympics, so it's pretty much brand new. And even though it's quite far out of Whistler Village there is a bus stop right outside the front door.
