Take it or leave it
was the decision our local Council had to make.
This is an unused building in the centre of town, previously used as the local TAFE ( technical college) owned by the State Government. Last year it was offered to the council and they had to decide whether it was too good an opportunity to obtain a heritage listed " American Romanesque 1898 red brick building with terracotta facings" as a gift or were they getting something with a huge price tag attached, necessary for much needed renovations before it was safe for public use.
They chose to take the gift but of course nothing has happened with it since. I did work in it briefly and can say it has some unique features, high ceilings, cedar mouldings and etched glass. Upstairs is a beautiful hall that would be so nice renovated and put back into use....here's hoping that will happen one day.
I walked to work in the sun this morning, but that only lasted for about half a block. The misty rain started and I wondered if I should walk home to get the car. I didn't, and got just a bit wet on the way.
