Just for you bucksmiss

Another beautiful day and we visited both the new and old town of Annecy.
We took a short detour on the way to check out the suitability (for caravans) of the road to Chamonix and how glad we were that we did! The main road is closed for a 5 mile stretch and the deviation is up a very narrow road with loads of hairpin bends! Somehow we have the feeling that (a) we deviate from the deviation by about 80 miles or we have a change of plan completely.
The town was extremely busy and it took us quite a while to find somewhere anywhere to park. The lake was as beautiful as ever. No wonder it is such a popular place. The old town is delightful but, naturally, full of tourists! It is the colours in the lake and the rugged "teeth" mountains that draw us back here.
