making marks
Ivy wanted to draw today- she watched me write with a pen and she wanted to try. She did make a few marks on a piece of paper, but she discovered the rug was easier. I let her draw on the rug- I figure her making marks is more exciting than protecting our rather scabby living room rug from more marks. She also got some pen on her face, which I thought made her look endearing, but Euan thought it revealed just how close she'd had come to stabbing herself in the eye.
Went to gaelic toddlers in the morning- Ivy played tambourine and enjoyed eating blueberrys immensly. Need to get her a tambourine- I think she's very musical, she'll 'play' piano and sing 'la lalalala' vaguly tunefully.
In the afternoon we went to call on Elseanne who had great fun saying 'hello' to Granny Grant.
However the most exciting thing that happened today is that Ivy stood up! without holding onto anything- she stood up super slowly with her arms out and it was amazing. She also learnt a new sound- a funny sort of 'thhhhrrr' like araspberry blown inside the mouth, and she was coughing to copy me coughing- which I didn't know she could do.
Since watching seb yesterday drink from a sippy cup, she's learned to do it herself. She still likes the big plastic pint glasses I drink from though- she climbed up me on the chair to retrieve one from the windowsill, then sat down on my lap to drink from it.
She's been very me-focussed today. Suspect teeth on the move again.
