Meeting the fans/teachers..!
Today 16 members of our staff went to see the Matinee performance of 'Billy Elliot' at Victoria Palace Theatre in London.
It was an outing designed as part of one of our colleague's retirement 'do's (she has worked at the school for 25 years!)
We had stall seats as a package obtained for us by the mum of one of our little pupils, Charlotte, who is in the play as one of the 'ballet girls' (that's her to the right above). Imogen the girl to the left is an ex-pupil of ours too who is now at a London stage school.
The play was really FAB - and I'm not really that keen on musicals.
The kids were so very polished and wonderful to watch.
Afterwards we went to the stage door to meet them. (Where this was taken). They were really pleased to see us and autographed our programmes!
After that, some people went home but 12 of us walked through Parliament square, past Westminster and over the bridge then along the South Bank where we stopped for a meal, then continued all the way along past the London Eye and the Globe to London Bridge to catch the train home. It was a fabulous sunny evening and the route was lined with street performers and people out and about enjoying themselves. We got the last train, I got home very late!
