Country Life
Day 7 in Romania was spent in the UNESCO World Heritage Village of Viscri, where Prince Charles owns a guest house. We visited, and photographed, the blacksmith, the brick maker and the carpenter. We went for a ride, on carts, into the countryside for a picnic lunch. In the early part of the evening we had a traditional dinner in one of the houses. Mutton stew cooked on an open fire in the garden.
After dinner we waited until the cows came home, literally, so that we could photograph the animals coming down from the pastures to be milked. We even photographed the cows being milked. The light was wonderful and after the animals had arrived this lady was walking down the same road. As you can imagine the dust was flying everywhere. A super end to a great day.
