The Beltane Fair Horse Races

This week was Peebles Beltane Fare - a week of celebrations not dissimilar to a gala week. The local camera group had agreed to document the week for the Beltane Committee, and we each had a set of assignments. The horse racing was mine for Wednesday. This is outwith my usual dictum of not shooting anything that moves, but it's always interesting to go outwith your comfort zone. And also interesting to mix with the local press pack - all of whom were friendly, good humoured and helpful; happy to share hints and tips.

I doubt the evening's experience was enough to convert me to sports photography, but it was enjoyable to share the crowd's excitement at the races.
