Beltane Fancy Dess Parade

The Friday night Fancy Dress Parade is of course a highlight of the week. The ingenuity of Peebleians in dressing up themselves and their offspring in the most inventive of costumes and props beggars belief, and reminded me of the pathetic efforts I sent my two daughters out in when they were too small to resist.

A feature of the Beltane Fancy Dress is that the town's bastions of testosterone - the Rugby Club and the Ex-Servicemen's Club - are unable to resist some healthy cross-dressing. Some of the sights I captured are not suitable for for the public internet...but certainly had the crowds in fits.
