caught before the storm...

...in mid-flight

i heard her - then saw her - leave the tree - right before raindrops began to fall - as thunder was rolling off in the distance - i'd been praying the rain would hold until i could get a decent picture - i'd been running late - so simply scampered out back - to my trusty ridge - where i found that the cactus are in full bloom - (i'll have to go back for them another day though) - and i also found more intriguing - wild flowers - little blue ones - pocket like - but they took a back seat - when i heard the bird calling - and then on the upload - decided i liked the misty look - of storm clouds hidden - the flight of the bird - getting away

i didn't do anything to this photo - no touch ups - i liked the look of slightly off color - how it came out - because i hadn't fussed with the settings - it just has a sort of overcast appearance to it - i believe that's okay - why mess with what the day - naturally was - i couldn't take the raindrops away from my own reality - and besides - i think they add to the overall atmosphere here - and for me, it makes it...
