Wild poppies

I love seeing poppies dotted around the place at this time of year. There is a field very near here which is sometimes (i.e. some Junes) awash with poppies, and I've photographed it from so many angles. Today, however, that same field is patchy with faded blotches of red, and I wonder if I've missed its peak whilst I was away for two weeks. So, I've opted for this random group just near where people park cars at a picnic site and just over the road from that sometimes vibrantly red field.
