Blackbird
I saw this female blackbird whilst on Peregrine watch this morning, I just liked how she perched.
News on the watch was that a wagtail attacked a peregrine when the raptor was about to land near her nest. A brave little thing but an indication of just how adult birds will do anything if their nest is threatened. Another shot of the juvenile peregrine in tree is also on blip folio.
Also the little cygnetI blipped on the swans back was found yesterday with her 3 siblings at the bottom of the weir. The parents were up river seemingly unworried. A friend had called the Wildlife Trust but they weren't interested in helping their plight so he got help and found a way to collect them up and delivered them back to their parents. Who accepted them back as if nothing had happened. The white water knuckle ride must have been quite something the little things and the sound of the weir would have drowned out their distress calls !!
