Dunadd Fort

An overnight stop on the campsite and an evening of stimulating conversation with Mother Shipton. Excellent!!

The point of visiting this part of Argyll started with reading a Blipfoto of Dunadd some months ago either from MS or Snapper and this morning was the day to visit the fort. With walking sticks, dodgy knees and ankles we thoroughly enjoyed the short climb. When walking the path between the great stones it was sobering to realise this hasn't changed much in the last two thousand years. The view from the top is commanding, a good look at the enemy all those years ago.
From here a drive south taking a right off the A83 onto the B8024. Another drive of stunning views along Loch Caolisport with several large sandy beaches looking beautiful in the sunshine and a quick look at the Kilberry sculptured stones. An over night stop in the middle of nowhere - a small Cemetry just behind us.
