My wake up call this morning was "Hiya Mummy. I am awake now!" from the cheery little voice beside me. I had been attempting to go back to sleep since 4.30 am and she made it through to 6. We read books in bed for a while before heading for breakfast. She did a very lovely picture for her work folder at nursery. She wrote her big name, drew grass, a farmer, a cow, a pig, tree, flowers, coconuts and apples. As you do. She told me "The pig has a coconut and an apple. She wants to get the apple when it falls from the the tree". I wrote it on the back of the picture and she read the sentence back to me.
We got rather wet on the way home from nursery this morning. She asked to put her onesie straight on. While she was out, the gas man had come to do the annual safety certification. I had to clear out the airing cupboard. I found 2 sleepsuits that my cousin had given us when she was about 2, including this one. She put it straight on. It's age 5-6 and quite large, but she loves it and wouldn't take it off. She decided she wanted salad, cheese and crackers for lunch and set about preparing it all.
We spent the afternoon pottering, hoping the weather would hold long enough to do a craft we had planned but it didnt! So there was a lot of doll playing (the toddlers were being much better behaved than the preschool children who wouldnt do the tidying up when she shook their tidy-up tambourine). She took the onesie off briefly to try on the tester of a dress pattern I'm trialling for the pattern designer. Then put it straight back on.
Granny and Grandad came for tea. She was a bit insanely hyper. She put her uniform on after tea to show them. She walked down the stairs with such a grin. She then proceeded to do 42 lengths of the lounge, running back and forth.
