Victoria’s Leaving Assembly
Today it was Victoria’s Leaving Assembly at her school. A bit daft really as most of them have not been to school since their exams finished; some of them will be going back, including Victoria, in September. However, the school, like many others in the UK has now taken on an American tradition and so we have ‘The Class of 2014’.
Oliver’s leaving assembly was in May when they went on study leave, but that did not happen in the same way this year. Victoria’s leaving assembly was similar to Oliver’s and consisted of some students playing the piano and singing as well as a dancer and guitarist. Then there was an address by the Head of Year Eleven, in which Victoria was mentioned twice, she was very highly praised for her sporting activities of judo and then again for being a kind, helpful and good student. The school is noted for its emphasis on sports and for music and drama.
Tonight it is the year eleven ‘Prom’, another tradition from the US, but to see Victoria in all her finery I think you will have to wait until tomorrow; her Mum will probably not post a picture of her tonight, although I suspect there will be several pictures that you will be able to see if you are my friend on FaceBook. I will include a link on Blip tomorrow.
If you want to see Victoria as she was when she started school, for comparison, look here.
