Siphoning water

Hill path above the lake...she was there with her brother, a little older maybe, a length of yellow tube, the bottle and a green plastic container akin to a watering can...early afternoon, hot humid day...

Hot, humid day...so a gentle wander, a coffee maybe...channa samosa, sir? Until I noticed I was above the big Buddha, following a path...sometimes...the road, when tired...hot humid post giardia stumble up, lacking energy the road gentle gradient between steepening short cuts and after a wee chamber a surprise, most pleasant one at that...a brahma temple by a lake; cartoon brahma, I thought of pushkar...and continued until I stumbled upon the path again, easy to see now, made of marble...gawp, laugh, India...the path up the hill is being reconstructed in marble steps, paid for by donation...and placed randomly along the route...there is no end...and it began to feel like it...

And then....the Buddha's footprint, in a cave, wearing sandals, large feet then...and butter lamps bubbling...my latest canine companion waiting outside...side on if it were a clock his head would be at four...what an odd angle to stand at...still...it's a belief system...where better to suspend it...thanks a siva temple replete with puja stalls and recognisable daftness...prayer beads were noted...no puja offered, which was nice...and then off down the marble stairs to reneswar...
