Pickled before breakfast......

.....that's the nectarines not me I hasten to add! Woke up at stupid o'clock again (pesky sun through a cat-fabricated hole in the blinds this time) and came over all domestic. The blip is an aide-memoire in case they turn out delicious (memo to self: added half a dozen green cardamom pods to the pickling mix at the last minute and don't forget to dilute the vinegar half-and-half with water) Taste aside (I'm giving them a couple of days to mellow before I try them) they certainly look the business......mind you, the kitchen reeks of spicy vinegar.....
