An Arachnid

This little chap is less than a quarter of an inch long (4mm) and was devouring what looked like a tiny little beetle. He'd made a web between stems of lavender and I only noticed him when I was trying to get some macro shots of them. I wouldn't want to see one this big but I am amazed by all it's detail.
A showery day today which isn't good as my granddaughter and a friend (with their mums of course) are attending a pop concert in the local park (about a mile as the crow flies from me, so I'm getting free pop music until 10pm!!!) as a pre 13th birthday treat for my granddaughter. I doubt whether the rain will dampen their enjoyment at all.
